Stop Soldier Suicide (SSS), is teaming up with Zoom Cares to support and expand the Black Box Project, an innovative research initiative designed to better understand suicide and prevent future loss of life through more precise suicide risk identification.
At its core, the Black Box Project seeks to answer one of the most difficult questions in suicide prevention: what can we learn from the moments leading up to a suicide that might help prevent future loss? To do that, researchers analyze data from digital devices left behind after a suicide. These devices often contain critical information about moments of struggle and crisis that would otherwise be lost.
