What Are Donations Used For?

Funds we raise go to:

1. Support our Resource Center

Our resource center, located in Raleigh, NC houses all our case managers and is run by two LCSWs – both with a MSW.  These two LCSWs oversee the employees, interns and volunteer case workers that are all fully trained and certified to work in our resource center and assist Veterans and Service members. Funding for our resource center includes the people, equipment and training to provide our services for military members and Veterans.

2. Generate Awareness
We generate awareness of the epidemic number of suicides in the military community so people will take action. We also generate awareness through outreach campaigns such as our Run For Life campaign, and our Unite for Life campaign among others.

3. Take Action

We take action required to help remove the stigma associated with mental health issues. PTS (Post Traumatic Stress) and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) are as real as any wound you can see with your naked eye. Lessening the stigma will help ensure that more people will feel comfortable reaching out for help.

Action requires we get the attention of the government to do more.  We are working to do just that.  Our Reverse Boot Camp White Paper and petition – both being released September of 2016 during Suicide Awareness Month – will garner the attention of government officials at the local, state and national level to do more to support our Veterans and Service Members.

Action requires more studies and research into alternative therapies that are non-pharmaceutical in nature.
